Homebrew have some serious fans. Since they put up the Marion Bates video, it’s had more views than anything we’ve put up on youtube. I find Homebrew really heartening - it’s proof that if you say things people can really relate to in your songs, people will want to hear them. Chris Graham’s video is an absolute triumph, and the screening of it capped off an anarchic, magical event at Avondale Hollywood cinemas - make sure you check it out here

Speaking of things we have got on youtube, there are a couple of good looking clips now. Daniel Blackball Alexander has been putting together footage of us for his next Off the Cuff episode. It was filmed in winter in Dunedin last year, at the time we were recording “Marion Bates Realty.” You can watch the interview in the teaser, and a full clip of us playing “Politics Will Make You Miserable” here. 

I was really happy with the second clip, because I still think that “Politics” is one of the best songs I’ve written. Performance-wise though, I think it was outshone by other tracks on Fragile Thing. So it’s good to have a record of how we play it live - a little messy, but quite ballsy.
